Tony White:

Tony White is an internationally award-winning animator, director and author with over 30 years experience in top-level traditional 2D animation. Tony started his career as triple Oscar-winner, Richard Williams, assistant, as well as studying with two of the late, 'greats' of Hollywood animation… Ken Harris (Warner Brothers) and Art Babbit (Disney). Tony ran his own award-winning studio, Animus Productions, in London for over twenty years, until he closed the studio to move the USA in 1998. Author of two respected textbooks on animation… the best-selling "The Animator's Workbook" and the newly published "ANIMATION FROM PENCILS TO PIXELS ~ Classical Techniques for Digital Animators," Tony now teaches at the DigiPen Institute of Technology where is Chair of the Art Department. Tony recently became Founder and President of 'The Animaticus Foundation'… a non-profit organization dedicated to the 'preservation, teaching and evolution of the traditional 2D artform in this digital age'. The Foundation hosts the annual "2D OR NOT 2D Animation Festival, which takes place in Everett, WA every November. Amongst Tony's film credits are the titles for "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" movie; "Pyramid" & "Cathedral" TV Specials (the latter winning a Blue Ribbon Award); the "Ink Thief" (a 7 x 26 minute TV fantasy TV drama series in live action/animation) and "Hokusai ~ An Animated Sketchbook" (winner of a British Academy Award). In addition, Tony has directed/animated over 200 TV commercials.
